Position overview

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team investigating the effects of malaria parasites on erythropoiesis with a focus on single-cell transcriptomics data. This project aims to uncover the complex interactions between malaria parasites and red blood cell production, providing insights that could lead to new therapeutic strategies.

Key Responsibilities under the supervision of Arthur Talman:

  • Lead the data analysis of human and parasite single-cell transcriptomics data from in vitro and in vivo samples.
  • Develop and implement computational pipelines for the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput sequencing data.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, including biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinicians.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations.
  • Mentor graduate students as needed.

Le profil que nous recherchons

The profile we are seeking

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a related field.
  • Strong background in single-cell transcriptomics and experience with data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python.
  • Experience with high-performance computing environments.
    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in english.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the research environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in erythropoiesis or malaria.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods for genomics data analysis.
  • Demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications.
